His research process maps a self-hosted stack — the *arr apps, Immich, Home Assistant, a Plex or Jellyfin server — to the RAM, vCPU, and transcode headroom it actually needs, so a build is sized to the workload instead of to a forum thread. He has put more than 100 apps through that mapping.
His bias is stated up front: quiet, low-power, no-vendor-lock. A 22-watt idle draw and a box that does not lock you to one drive brand beats raw horsepower he will never use.
